Story Transcript:

Ga: Thosaigh an scéal san fhómhar dorcha, laistigh de na fothracha d'árasán scoile tréigthe.
En: The story began in the dark autumn, within the ruins of an abandoned school apartment.

Ga: Bhí an dorchadas ag titim i measc na gcrann caillteanais agus duilleoga lonracha ag titim thíos.
En: The darkness was falling among the trees of loss, and shiny leaves were falling down.

Ga: Shuidh Cillian, Aoife, agus Ronan i dtost.
En: Cillian, Aoife, and Ronan sat in silence.

Ga: Bhí an t-aer fuar, ceomhar.
En: The air was cold and misty.

Ga: Bhí Cillian ag smaoineamh faoin gineadóir a raibh sé ag súil go bhféadfadh sé teas a thabhairt ar ais don phobal.
En: Cillian was thinking about the generator he hoped could return heat to the community.

Ga: Bhí cuntas faoi sin caillte i measc an phobail.
En: This issue had been lost among the people.

Ga: Bhí Aoife ina suí lena thaobh.
En: Aoife sat beside him.

Ga: Bhreathnaigh sí amach ar na fothracha, a fhios aici go maith cé chomh contúirteach is a bhí an áit seo.
En: She looked out at the ruins, well aware of how dangerous this place was.

Ga: "D'imigh muid go dtí an seanteach seo i gcomhair gá," a dúirt Ronan, a bhí i gcónaí ina cheannaire, fíú má bhí amhras ar a chroí.
En: "We came to this old house out of necessity," said Ronan, who was always a leader, even if doubt rested in his heart.

Ga: "Tá a fhios agam an dainséar," dúirt Cillian go doimhín.
En: "I know the danger," said Cillian deeply.

Ga: "Ach ní mór dúinn an gineadóir sin a aimsiú.
En: "But we must find that generator."

Ga: "D'eist Aoife go ciúin.
En: Aoife listened quietly.

Ga: Bhí a fhios aici seiftiúlachtaí na gcomhghuaillithe eile a bhí ina gcónaí sna fothracha.
En: She knew the resourcefulness of the other allies living in the ruins.

Ga: Bhí eolas aici nach raibh ag Cillian agus ag Ronan.
En: She had information that Cillian and Ronan did not.

Ga: Ach an féidir léi a cuid eolais a roinnt?
En: But could she share her knowledge?

Ga: Ba mhaith léi cabhrú, ach bhí amhras uirthi ar an dá thaobh.
En: She wanted to help, but she was uncertain about both sides.

Ga: "Tá eolas agam ar chosáin atá sábháilte," arsa Aoife, ag briseadh an tost.
En: "I know of safe paths," said Aoife, breaking the silence.

Ga: D'fhéach Cillian ina súile.
En: Cillian looked into her eyes.

Ga: An bhféadfadh sé muinín a bheith aige as a cuid eolais?
En: Could he trust her knowledge?

Ga: Níorbh fhada go raibh orainn gníomhú.
En: It wouldn’t be long before they needed to act.

Ga: Thosaigh siad ag bogadh isteach go cúramach san fhoirgneamh.
En: They began to move carefully into the building.

Ga: Scáthaigh na crainn an solas breac a shín síos.
En: The trees shaded the sparse light that stretched down.

Ga: Léim crúb ag stánacht amach astu.
En: A claw leaped out as a stark shape from the thickets.

Ga: Bhí daoine óga sa cheantar ag faire orthu, daoine a raibh súil acu a lámha a chur ar an gineadóir chomh maith.
En: Young people in the area were watching them, hoping to get their hands on the generator as well.

Ga: Go tobann, hionsaigh an drong eile iad.
En: Suddenly, another gang attacked them.

Ga: Chuir sé go créibhteach ar Cillian a chinneadh a dhéanamh.
En: It forced Cillian to make a swift decision.

Ga: Ar dheis nó ar chlé?
En: Right or left?

Ga: Caithfeadh sé cinneadh a dhéanamh faoi cé leis a rachfaí.
En: He had to decide whom to follow.

Ga: "Anseo!
En: "Here!"

Ga: " a d'ordaigh sé.
En: he ordered.

Ga: Cuireadh iontas ar na hionsaitheoirí mar phreab Cillian agus Aoife isteach laistigh d'seomra feithimh.
En: The attackers were taken by surprise as Cillian and Aoife leaped into a waiting room.

Ga: Chuala siad gach buille crua a thosaigh ag teacht díreach taobh thiar díobh.
En: They heard every hard blow starting to come right behind them.

Ga: Ag deireadh, bhí Cillian lán thanktur do Aoife.
En: In the end, Cillian was full of gratitude for Aoife.

Ga: Fuair sí bealach a d'fheabhsaigh sábháilteacht na gceithre sa chéad áit.
En: She found a way to enhance the safety of the four in the first place.

Ga: Bhí feidhm eile ag a cuid eolais do gach taobh.
En: Her information had a use for all sides.

Ga: Bua fhoghlaim Cillian cheana féin: tábhacht na gcomhghuaillithe agus muinín.
En: Cillian had already learned a victory: the importance of allies and trust.

Ga: Le gineadóir á sciobadh, fhág an dream beag áit trempeallaithe daoine eile, agus saol nua agus teo ag fanacht orthu sa phobal.
En: With the generator snatched, the small group left the place surrounded by others, with a new and warmer life awaiting them in the community.

Ga: Mar a fuair an gin, bhí Samhain thart orthu, ag dearbhascáil deireadh seanaoise agus tús an ama nua leis an dúil teacht.
En: As they found the generator, Samhain surrounded them, marking the end of an old era and the beginning of a new one with the desire to move forward.
