Ashwood Archives – Aurora Group Surveillance
In this Ashwood Archives installment we first hear about a shadowy group investigating seemingly mundate goings-on inside Ashwood. In this instance, it's transcribed notes from a Trust and Loan board meeting. Numerous references to the Caldwell and Tremont spike the interest of the candestin agents. It's clear they have been piecing together seemingly unrelated accounts for decades; their interest piqued with the timing of Amy's return. What in the hell in going on?

From the Creator:
Echoes under Ashwood is more than a horror story...it is a deeply personal piece of autofiction. The slow-burn dread, the isolation of the rural Midwestern setting, and the unresolved history of the Gen X cast are directly informed by my own childhood trauma, processed and reframed through the lens of cosmic horror. This is an exploration of what it takes to look into the dark, face old ghosts, and survive the aftermath.
About Echoes under Ashwood: This is an audio-only cosmic horror podcast set in rural southeastern Ohio. Our story is a slow-burn analog mystery rooted in psychological dread, following a Gen X cast through an investigative narrative. While the story is completely improvised, the framework is heavily inspired by investigative tabletop RPG systems like Call of Cthulhu and Delta Green.

Episode 09 – Forgotten History, Remembered Voices
Congratulations! You've made it to Episode 09 and that marks half way through Act 1. That's some comittment and we're happy you joined us behind the basement door.
A quick note about the cast change going forward. Art, who created Oz, had to step away to depose some banana republic colonel and won't be back this story. But Oz is not gone, for David Edwards stepped up to cllimb into the boots of this suspicious giant called Oz and we couldn't be happier that he's here.
In this episode, the gang find themselves awash in documents, items, and old cassette tapes featuring voices they had long forgotten...or buried. A pile of seemingly unassociated documents start to stack up and slowly a story begins to emerge. What's the deal with that thumb in a jar? Did Bex say something about mycology last episode? And what's with all this military jargon? Make sure to jump over to our Latchkey Lair at Patreon. it's the home for all clues and extra content and it's F.R.E.E.

Ashwood Archives - Fairies in the Ferns?
In this week's Ashwood Archives we listen in on another Red Ryder show on WASH AM730. The Midnight Hour is Red's part cll-in conspiracy show and part capitive audience for his snark. Our old friend Chuck is back with an interesting tke of the old Fen Fairies legend of Ashwood. Rumor has it that the Irish that setted the area managed to conjure a doorway to the Fae realm and every now and again some of ol' fairies come squirtin' through into Fen Hollow. Dim lights apparently floating near the ground, popping in and winking out. Everybody's home town has its legends...excepat Ashwood seem constructed from them.

Episode 8 – What We Leave Behind part 2
Amy didn't leave answers. She left a trail. In this extended episode, the group begins unlocking the places Amy trusted them to find and old assumptions start to crack. Forced to split up, Lance and Oz lean into their buddy cop energy, Bex attempts penance by taking Harry with her, and Dawn finds herself alone with Traci in Amy's house, and the echoes of someone she thought she knew. An empty house that feels anything but abandoned.
Some doors open with keys. Others should have stayed closed.
Also, some game mechanics shenanigans.

Ashwood Archives - Death Rays, Turbines, and Tesla, oh my!
In this week's Ashwood Archives we listen in on another Red Ryder show on WASH AM730. The Midnight Hour is Red's part cll-in conspiracy show and part capitive audience for his snark. Dennis from "Fen Hollow" calls Red and drops a huge load of crazy, which is just the way Red likes it. Only this load has a plausable flavor to it. Ashwood has a litany of weird stuff. There's no shortage of host material, for sure.

In this Ashwood Archive clip, we overhear a conversation between Ashwood dispatch and Ashwood police office responding to a strange 911 call, where they find a young boy happily eating cereal and watching cartoons while his mother stares blankly into the distance. Everyone is somehow related to everyone else in Ashwood, and most of the time the weird just gets passed around.

Episode Summary
Before Amy Caldwell disappeared, she wasn't the only one asking questions.
In this special compilation episode of Absentia, investigator Evie Ross sits down with people connected to the five individuals drawn back to Ashwood. Former classmates, old friends, rivals, and acquaintances offer their perspectives on Harry, Dawn, Oz, Lance, and Bex.
Some remember loyalty. Some remember trouble. Some remember things they'd rather forget.
A former dealership owner recalls the jealousy and heartbreak surrounding Dawn McBride's closest friendship. A bartender reflects on Oz Hannigan's reputation and the ghosts he never quite left behind. A garage owner shares his thoughts on Harry Glassman. Other interviews reveal fragments of Lance McClane's past and the complicated relationship between Bex Lexington and those closest to her.
Taken together, the interviews paint a picture of five ordinary people whose lives may have been connected long before they realized it.
Or perhaps that's only what the story wants them to believe.

Episode 5 - Everybody Brings Baggage
The group settles into the Matthews lake house—an expensive slice of manufactured peace sitting just far enough outside Ashwood to pretend the town can’t reach it.
It can.
While Oz, Bex, and Lance try to reconnect over drinks, old dynamics start resurfacing almost immediately. Time may have passed, but Ashwood has a habit of preserving unfinished business. Especially between people who never really figured out what they were to each other in the first place.
Meanwhile, Harry and Dawn make a late stop at Chuck’s garage to grab supplies—and end up getting something else entirely. Beneath the rambling, the smoke, and the half-broken machinery, Chuck quietly lets slip a truth about Ashwood that reframes the town in a way neither of them is prepared for. Because people leave Ashwood all the time.
According to Chuck… that doesn’t necessarily mean they escape it.
Also in this episode: James steps in for Art as Oz.
