Welcome to the Eco Pocket Talk pod where we give quick on-the-go conversation on how to creatively embed change within ourselves and our communities. We cover a multitude of topics that encompass social and environmental justice all in 5 minutes. No matter where you are in the world, we can all make an effort to inform ourselves and be better. We hope to become global learners and advocates by implementing valuable knowledge and eco-projects into our daily lives. One of our main objectives this year has been to cultivate a garden. With that being said, we hope to introduce the notion and wonderful techniques of Urban Composting for city people;)

Viruses and Vaccines shape our world. The objective of this podcast is to start a conversation and spark a bigger change within our community. Today we are going to cover Vaccines with a special guest- Mr. Negin AND Ms. Kumar. This is a very prevalent topic for this unprecedented time. Today we want to break any misconceptions about vaccines and talk about the science behind vaccines and viruses. This is foundational information for us all to know so that way we can be conscious and safe individuals. In this podcast, we hope to cover some leading questions/topics, including What goes into a vaccine? How do we eradicate a virus (herd immunity)? How do viruses help life? We also hope to break any misconceptions and dive deeper into vaccine hesitancy.

In this special episode, we centralize the principles of diversity, empathy, and integrity in our learning and teaching. Our backgrounds and stories deserve to be shared and celebrated in any setting. Before we can teach/learn from others we must empathize with others; we must be true to our identities. Regardless, of our titles and age, we can continue to teach our teachers and learn from our students- at the end of the day, we all have artistry and humility to implement in our community. By the same token, Mrs. Acquisto (a second-grade teacher), illustrates her trajectory from a student to a teacher and outlines the art of being intentional as both a learner and instructor.

In this podcast episode, we will focus on two arctic species (the Polar Bear and Harp seals) and how they can navigate harsh environmental conditions impended on by humans. Hint, hint, global warming. We will also be analyzing studies and sources of evolutionary evidence that relate to natural selection- the survival of the fittest. Furthermore, we will look at possible solutions for humans to intervene with genetic engineering (CRISPR) and selective breeding. This episode is long overdue! In today's podcast, we will be discussing the harsh reality of Fast Fashion. "Fast Fashion...What's that?" Some brands include Zara, Forever 21, H&M, etc. Hopefully, this episode can help us be more mindful shoppers- and to make use of what we have. In today's day and age, we very much live in a shopping-oriented world-its crazy! The average American in the 1980s bought 12 new articles of clothing every year. Now think about the last time you went shopping. I know. Often, we get pushed into the shopping culture of it rather than the actual necessity (think about back-to-school shopping).
