  • 42. Successful Indian Policies (Part 3) –

We all criticise government policies. I like to do it. But I thought why not reflect on some of the most successful policies in India. That’s why I will come up with three such policies this week and will try to bring more such episodes every few weeks.

In the first part we discussed ‘Anganwadi’ programme.

In the second part we discussed 'National Social Assistance Program'.

In this episode, we will discuss on Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and policy that has improved and upgraded livelihoods in rural India, and will continue to do so in the future - National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) or also known as Ajeevika / Deendayal Antyoday Yojana.

In the first part we discussed 'Anganwadi' programme.

In this part, we will discuss on welfare schemes for below-poverty line (BPL) families in the events of death, disability and old age. These schemes are provided through one of the most successful government programs - National Social Assistance Programme.

Why commodity prices are falling? Usually, gold and copper prices move in opposite directions. But why it's not the case now?

  • 36. Shrinkflation to Sneakflation -

Inflation throws us into so many things. We knew that businesses reduce package size and keep the prices unchanged - the traditional shrinkfaltion. But, sneakflation is new - here the prices are not known until we actually pay them. Quite sneaky!
