We’re transforming the old goat corral on the end of our shepherd’s house into a workshop to help us in our creative endeavours. This little corral has had and amazing history from a famous local shepherd who used to live here with his goats, and a family who lived here working the land self sufficiently with mules grinding their own wheat and growing their own vegetables from the mountain spring. Our workshop is going to be fundamental in us being able to continue flourishing on this mountain, it will be a space to store all our tools effectively and manufacture our weirdest and wildest creations.
Alongside the workshop we’re starting a new project outside - we’re going to plant a forest. The forest will consist of mainly fruit trees to create produce for our family, harnessing some of our newly found permaculture skills to create a more resilient system that will withstand everything the Spanish climate can throw at it. As part of this we will also create a new home for our thirty chickens - their house will be made from stones that we find around the land with a wooden roof, something similar to the old corrals we see dotted around the valley - the goal is to make something really beautiful, with more natural based materials, and which will fit nicely into the landscape.

We are Emilia, Robbie & Sage, we left our city lives behind and moved to the top of a mountain in Spain, to live off-grid. We’ve spent two years alone, renovating an old stone house and restoring the abandoned land. Join us as we continue to build our off-grid homestead, and become self-sufficient from the land.
