Former Proteas batsman Gary Kirsten has donated 300 licenses to the online cricket coaching platform CoachED to cricket coaches in South Africa’s townships during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Through the Gary Kirsten Foundation, 300 local coaches from local townships will become beneficiaries of the platform that provides cricket coaching accreditation and a variety of coaching content and resources.
Kirsten spoke to East Coast Drive amid South Africa’s Coronavirus-enforced 35 day lockdown. He’d been on holiday with his family near Breede River since before the country went into lockdown and decided to extend his stay for the remainder of the confinement period.
