Ed Burns is a life-long Long Islander. Born and raised in Valley Stream - "up-island" - he spent summers driving out to Montauk with his dad and then raised his own children the same way, packing the car on the last day of school and trekking out to Springs. He now lives just down the road from the very lawns he mowed as a landscaper in college. He joined Brian Cosgrove during our Spring Fund Drive to talk about his love of public media and encourages listeners to make a donation. He shared a personal story of getting his accolades and support as a student filmmaker from the public TV station in New York City, and more in this special interview.
