With still lots of uncertainty about what the future will look like post Covid-19, one thing we can be sure of, is that we are two weeks nearer to it being over than it was when I last spoke with you. EDGA has been extremely busy over this period. The Eligibility Team are working through the application processes, the Tournament Team are rescheduling events where possible and updating the regulations, and the Development Team are working virtually with the four member countries who successfully applied for a project with our eight step development plan, supported by The R&A.
In this episode we give some background to the decision of European Tour star Paul Waring to join the EDGA team as an Ambassador.
We update the current situation on tournaments including discussions around the European Championship and EDGA Badged events.

Although much of the world is socially distancing, isolating and in some cases quarantining, social interaction over the internet and telephone lines has reached an all time high. Personally I have now spoken with over 150 EDGA players, from those countries that have been on the front pages of the news, Itlay, Spain, the UK and now the United States, along with players in other affected countries.
Of course with pretty much all tournament play now postponed, golfers, coaches and therapists are looking to get their golf fix in some other way. EDGA recently launched our How I Play series. The "HOW I PLAY by EDGA", series features golfers with a variety of impairments share their experience and the strategies of how they adapt or adjust to perform to the best of their ability. You will be able to hear a short clip of Episode 1 with Mike Jones.

Over the last couple of weeks the world has taken on a very different feel. As governments scramble to deal with the spread of Covid-19, every facet of our daily life has been changed.

This weeks Podcast is given over to findings from the recent EDGA Player survey which was distributed to 1,000 players in October 2019 and was open for 21 days.
This week EDGA spoke at the Golf Course Association of Europe conference entitled, “European Golf Business Conference and Tech Show” in Cascais, Portugal. EDGA had been invited to do a session on the opportunities for the golf industry around golf for the disabled.
And finally we are able to reveal EDGAs newest member which is the Ukraine Golf Federation.

This warm-weather edition of the EDGA Golfers First Podcast visits Florida, Jordan, Melbourne and California. For good measure, we also have a short visit to Scotland.
I caught up with The MENA Tour Tournament Director Wayne Johnson in Jordan. The MENA Tour has just completed its qualifying school, but only a couple of days ago announced a collaboration with EDGA which opens up an opportunity for players who are looking to sharpen their competitive games to the professional level.
