The organization Palacios founded in 2018 strives to build a community of Latinx education professionals and to provide Latino students with classroom role models. Palacios describes the improved educational achievement of Latinx students who have access to teachers who look like them, the mentoring and leadership influence these teachers bring to students and the community building that results from the efforts.
