Enjoyed the drama and including characters from previous book. This series could use a male and female reading this book.
The Merrick/Casus Story Continues
In book 2, we learn more about the casus and get introduced to Royce and Gregory. Sage Buchanan, Ian's sister, is aware and accepts her Merrick. And thankfully, there is a lot less angst over her destiny, unlike book 1. (In my opinion, Ian wrestled a little too long with his destiny.) However, even though Ms. Byrd's writing style is intense and emotional, I never really bought the attraction between Sage and Quinn. The sizzling passion and sexual tension that was in book 1, wasn't evident here. Quinn's excuse for why he could not be with Sage was a bit lame, and at times their sparring felt forced. Still, I will likely read book 3, which gets released in June. And I will hope the suthor adds more of her sizzling passion to the next book.
If I could give zero stars....
Horribly written, full of cliches. Absolute garbage. Badly read too. The narrator should NOT read books involving men's voices. When someone is described as DRAWLING a gravelly grouchy voice is not what is being called for. The whole book is ridiculous in its seriousness. We are to believe that immediately upon spotting someone you have never spoken to but are being sent to collect that you would immediately jump into "carnal" thoughts. And I don't use that word as a prude, it's seriously used through the book as a description. Ridiculous. I don't care about the characters one iota. The heroine is stupid and stubborn, the hero is grouchy and stubborn... woo woo. Fun times. So glad I bought this on sale 3 books for 2 credits. I consider this the FREE book. What a waste of time.

I really hated this story. The storyline was thin and both the hero and the heroine were just stupid. There was lots of violence and the heroine kept running away from get needed help. It was a total waste of my time and money.
