Snapchat Upgrades: The Implications for users and advertisers.

A few weeks ago, the popular social platform Snapchat released two new features, Snap Maps and Snap Links. Snap Maps is a new facet of Snapchat in which users can display their location to those following them on the application. Snap Links offer users, influencers and brands the opportunity to engage in a new and interactive way through the application. This addition to Snapchat mimics updates from competitor platform Instagram. During this episode of The EDGE Podcast we will dive in and explore what the implications of these new features are, consumer perceptions of these updates and how advertisers can best utilize them to further their brands. June is Pride Month, so this week at The EDGE Podcast we decided to focus on the LGBT consumer and companies that have engaged with them, through advertising, in the past and present. To start out we covered three companies that were trailblazers in LGBT-inclusive advertising, accidentally, two out three just happened to be from our Scandinavian brothers. EDGE Podcast 06/20/17: E3: Electronic Entertainment Expo

This week on the Periscope EDGE Podcast, we are joined by new-Periscopian, Kate as she dives head-first into the E3 conference held last week in Los Angeles, CA.

So, what is E3?

E3 stands for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, it’s basically one of the biggest video game industry events, where developers, producers, designers and everyone from the gaming industry can come together and share their latest and greatest creations with each other. It used to be a very industry focused event, but this year E3 tried to make the event more consumer-facing by taking this invite only event, and opening it up to a small number of video game fans! The event not only highlights the hardware and games players can expect later this year, but also provides a sense of the direction the developers and publishers behind them are headed. It acts as a great case study for advertisers to look at to see how social media, audience engagement, new technology and overall trends will play in our lives and if we can find any valuable insights or take aways!
