Solstice is when the sun literally stands still. It is a very potent time.

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere you will be celebrating the Winter Solstice. It is celebrating the rebirth of life in all forms. From here on out, the days will get longer, and the Sun will shine brighter. Hope is renewed. It is a time when we can begin to return to a state of balance by allowing that which has been born to mature.

If you are in the Southern Hemisphere you will be celebrating Summer Solstice – the beginning of the decent into the void of darkness from which all is born.  It is like returning to the womb to gestate. You are acknowledging your return to your inner world and all that is necessary to create anew.

Either way, a Solstice is worthy of celebration because it is a time when our polar opposites can be addressed, balanced, and healed.
