Edify: For the Servant

Talking at folks is one thing, having a heart to heart is another. When someone isn’t looking at us, while we are trying to convey something sincere, it hurts. That should make us aware to put our eyes on their eyes while preaching.

God invented humor. But how much should go into my sermon? Should it go in at all?

We aren’t up there because we are beautiful. We are up there to persuade people to change their lives AND to tell them why.

It’s not only preaching what’s right, but also learning to refute what’s wrong.

How do you do it? What’s your conviction like? Is it personal? Are you confident?

Ministry is hard. It’s especially hard in our souls and minds, thus, we lose sleep over it all. How are you doing with sleep? You’re no good, if you’re no good.

Conclusions can be some the of the most painful moments in a sermon. End well and end concise. Be direct. Be impactful.

The mention of the Holy Spirit is often, most neglected in our conversation and preaching. How sad. The Spirit came to preach, teach, and transform. Let’s let our people know.
