In this episode, Kayla has a conversation with Wes and Manon Phelps. The two met as missionaries in Africa. Wes was born and raised in America while Manon is from the Netherlands. In this episode, Kayla sits down with Tatenda and Erika Ushendibaba. Tatenda is from Zimbabwe, Africa and his wife, Erika, is from the United States. The two share their experiences getting into a relationship with someone of a different culture and the cultural barriers they had to overcome to build trust and a lasting relationship.
Today, we have a beloved Chi Alpha Alumni, Atchya Lopresti. She and Kayla met during their years in college and hit it off almost immediately. Atchya shares with us her raw experiences communicating with a different culture. Though the experiences may have been challenging, Atchya gained much wisdom and advice for people to learn while communicating across cultures.
Our first guest in the cross-cultural communications mini-series is Jeeva. She is an India native and faithful member of Erie First Assembly. Jeeva brings us much wisdom on what it means to communicate with grace and understanding with people of different cultures.
