Welcome to Laura and Darryl's discussion of the movies of 1981 (nominated for Best Picture in 1982). This year it was difficult to compare the films as we had historical epics v. popcorn films v. Oscar bait.

We have a very special guest this time! Our friend Becca loves the movie Scream, possibly even more than Laura. Becca shares a ton of interesting facts about the movie and adds quite a bit to our podcast. We were honored to have her.

This one is Laura's #16 and it's all about horror movies and playing with, what in 1996 was a rather stale genre.

Listen in on why Laura thinks this Jane Austen adaptation is one of the best movies out there.  Romantic, funny, well-paced, beautiful costumes and a behind-the-scenes love affair that has lasted for decades. It's no wonder that Emma Thompson is her friendship crush and Laura confesses that she wants to hang out with her and drink margaritas!
