Recorded entirely solo during lockdown, Chris played every instrument – drums, guitar, bass, percussion, woodwinds and saxophones – completing the project in just six weeks. The result stands as one of his most personal and inventive recordings to date.

Episode One:

In this episode, Chris and Lauren are joined by Snowpoet album engineer Alex Killpartrick, reflecting on their debut self-titled album from 2016. They reminisce on how they all first met and began working together, discuss the delicate transition to music making post university, and explore the process of arriving at the group's unique and compelling blend of jazz, folk, songwriting and creative production. The evocative and enveloping “Mermaid” is the deep dive track for this episode.

Sun-Mi found inspiration in the musicians around her, particularly Han Bennink and the ICP Orchestra. Their raw creativity, freedom, and unique perspectives deeply resonated with her. Most importantly, their ability to find fascination in the smallest details and infuse those discoveries into their music played a pivotal role in shaping Sun-Mi’s own artistic journey.
