Voices in the world try to tell us who we are or who we should be. Rather than put on an identity from the world, we can choose to be clothed with Christ.

The heartfelt conversation that began with questions and complaints (1:2-4) ends in commitment and joy. Even when life is hard, God is our strength.

God assures us that He is still engaged and active in our world. As we encounter Him, we can be transformed from being a worrier to being a worshipper.

As we lament the injustice of our world, we can also learn from it. God is clear about the ways of the wicked and where those ways lead.

Although it is discouraging to see evil prevail in our world, there is much to learn about God and His providence even in the darkest days.

When we experience or observe injustice or suffering, we often fail to see what God is doing behind the scenes to accomplish His will. How do you respond when you don't like how God answers your prayers?

When our eyes are fixed on eternity, we gain perspective for today. Commitment, not complacency, should be our approach as we wait patiently for God to make all things new.

God has not given up on us. God's patience should not be misconstrued as apathy. He longs for all to come to repentance. We are reminded that our timing does not always align with God's timing, and that waiting teaches patience and builds trust.

Not knowing the truth about Jesus makes us susceptible to messages and influences that pull us away from Jesus. While leaning on God for discernment, we must understand that being led astray leads to destruction.
