Being different demands that we not conform to the harshness and hatred of the world, but rather that we walk with Jesus across enemy lines and demonstrate a heart of genuine love.

What does the pace of your life reveal about the priorities of your life? While observing Sabbath is not commanded for New Testament Christians, practicing Sabbath is an important way to rest, refocus and revel in the goodness of God.

Rather than embrace privilege, Jesus leveraged his status and privilege for the sake of others. Being different demands that we redirect privilege and power to those who are underprivileged and vulnerable.

Our hearts' tendency is to be drawn to idols that promise immediate gratification. As someone has said, we often "turn good things into God things." You can be different by submitting your longings and loyalties fully to the one and only God.

When it seems things are stacked against the Church, God reminds us of the purpose, peace and power we have in Him, rooted in an everlasting love and fueled by an ever present power that can do even more than we imagine.

Most of us have a "generosity threshold." Our giving rarely exceeds our comfort level. But what would happen if we gave until it hurt? Sacrificial giving forces us to give up control and rely on God.

One of the greatest gifts you can give is to speak life into other people. To encourage others literally means to “speak courage” into them. Generosity is expressed through life-giving words and actions.

The heart behind your gift if often more important than the gift itself. How can giving up something give us joy? What is the secret to cheerful giving?

What is your motivation for giving? We often give expecting something in return. This type of conditional giving often honors self, whereas genuine, unqualified generosity honors God.

We think we were created to consume. But as image-bearers of God, we were actually made to be generous givers. Life is more abundant when we embrace generosity and develop a giving heart.
