John R. Slate, Ph.D. is a Full Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University. He has been in higher education for 36 years. To date, he has chaired 99 students at SHSU to completion, along with over 45 others at Texas A&M Kingsville, UT/El Paso, and Valdosta State University. He has written 12 books and published over 45 peer reviewed articles. Most of his published works are with his doctoral students. He also maintains a private practice in which he assists doctoral students in completing their doctoral dissertations.
