Nayeli Alvarado founded SEMILLA in 2021, a non profit committed to ensure no child is denied the opportunity to thrive and reach their dream of becoming who and what they desire. The story behind SEMILLA began when Nayeli was introduced to the poverty that exists in Ensenada Mexico in 2018. Witnessing the living conditions, challenges and limitations that prevent young children and teenagers the opportunity to have an education, broke her heart and ignited a fire within to fight for the children of Ensenada.
Her own experience of coming to this country as an immigrant at 8yrs old and having limited opportunities has fueled the mission of SEMILLA. She believes Education is the key to changing the world. Education is what can change anyone's life. The basis of the organization is to find sponsors who will commit to contributing to a Child's education. The schooling costs begin as early as 1st grade up to University. The goal is to support the children every step of the way. Following her heart's calling and purpose, Nayeli aims to make her life her message as passion and empathy drive her to make an impact on the lives of others.
