Michael Howay is a technology teacher and adviser to the Robotics Club. 9th grader James Gilbert is a member of that club. Together, they talk about the field of robotics, and it's limitless possibilities.

Dr. Paul Lichman is an adviser to an award-winning science research program. Cindy Sosa is one of the students enrolled in the program. They talk about this unique program and the challenges it offers to students.

In part two, we meet Jonathan and Veronica, who are also successful student athletes. Veronica plays volleyball and is a cheerleader, while Jonathan plays baseball. Both are also headed to college.

Both Carina and Albert have managed to balance their athletic pursuits with their academic success. Carina is a multi-sport athlete, as well as the class salutatorian, while Albert is the scholar athlete of the year, and finished in the top 2% of his class. Learn how they were able to accomplish this.

Mr. Rancy earned his first degree in French Literature and Philosophy. He has worked as the English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructional Supervisor for the East Ramapo School District, Director of Field Experiences at the School of Education of the City College of New York, and resource specialist at the Southern Westchester Board of Cooperative Education Services, as well as an ESL Teacher in the New York Public School System.

Elizabeth Power is CEO of E-Power and Associates INC. Her work consists of using learning to reduce the time, cost and trauma of healing for everyone involved; the people who provide the services, and those who receive them. She knows the power of relationship as the central healing agent in recovery from overwhelming experience, especailly those beginning in early childhood.

Susan Kornblit Strom is author of BORN ANGRY and is a high school teacher in Lancaster California. She has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. Her second book, BORN ANGRY TOO is currently in progress.

In his book Fear and Learning in America, John Kuhn laid bare the scare tactics at the root of the modern school "reform" movement. Kuhn conveys a deeply held passion for the mission and promise of public education through his own experience as a school administrator in Texas.

Today's guests lend their expertise on topics related to the corporate world's impact on public education. Stan Karp is the Director of the Secondary Reform Project for New Jersey's Education Law Center. He has co-edited several books, including Rethinking Our Classrooms, Teaching for Equity and Justice, and Rethinking School Reform: Views from the Classroom.

Lisha Lercari is the creator and program director of Music and the Brain. Lisa Beatty is it's program manager. We will find out about the inspirations for the creation of this amazing program, and how it differs in the way music is usually taught.
