  • Ep 11. 'Red Hot Chili Peppers Live at Slane Castle'

Good Brother and Lil' Silky switch it up and revisit their favourite concert movie from their youth - 2003's 'Red Hot Chili Peppers Live at Slane Castle.'

In excruciating detail that is only likely to interest them, the boys talk about their teenage obsession with this concert and question how Anthony Kiedis ever got away with wearing 3/4 red jeans.

    1 hr 58 min
  • Ep 10. 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' (w/ Alanna)

This week on Ego Hour, Lil' Silky and Good Brother are joined by Alanna (from the 'Illiterature' podcast) and immerse themselves in her favourite film; Francis Ford Coppola's 'Bram Stroker's Dracula'.

The crew talk Vampire D, bad British accents and (hot???) Garry Oldman.

    1 hr 41 min
  • Ep 9. 'Amélie' (w/ Mum)

This week on Ego Hour, Lil' Silky and Good Brother are joined by the mother of all podcasts (well maybe just this podcast). Mum (or Shaz) swings by and provides some wholesome takes on Jean-Pierre Jenuet's classic crowdpleaser 'Amélie'.

The group extensively talk camera lenses, manic pixie dream girls and Mum's taste for a bit of French escapism.

    1 hr 20 min
  • Ep 8. 'David Byrne's American Utopia' (w/ Ginny McKewlies & Lenny the Greyhound)

'TAKE A LOOK AT THESE HANDS!'

Joined by special guest and fellow 'Talking Heads' enthusiast Ginny (along with her sidekick Lenny), Good Brother and Lil' Silky marvel at euphoric, funky and touching Spike Lee directed 'American Utopia'.

The gang slowly make their way through the setlist and effectively also review 'Stop Making Sense' in the process. Tune in for deep discussions on baby neurons, sweat patches and 'Vampire Weekend' albums.

    1 hr 41 min
  • Ep 7. 'First Reformed'

In the last episode of 2020, Lil' Silky and Good Brother get appropriately existential with Paul Schrader's 'First Reformed'.

The boys talk the Climate Crisis, institutions and their love for Jakey Jake Gyllenhaal.

    1 hr 23 min
  • Ep 6. 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'

Lil' Silky and Good Brother finally get their letter from Hogwarts and take on the filmic introduction to the Harry Potter universe.

Revisiting a classic of their childhood, the boys remember their favourite lego sets, admire 'Pixels' and discuss the wasted potential of 'p-p-p-poor st-st-st-stuttering' Professor Quirrell.

    1 hr 2 min
  • Ep 5. 'I'm Thinking of Ending Things' (w/ Hess Royale)

Once again joined by Rob from Hess Royale, opinions are split and tensions are high as Lil' Silky and Good Brother dissect Charlie Kaufman's latest 'I'm Thinking of Ending Things'.

Is it pretentious? Is it genius? The boys get meta and talk ambiguity, A24 and David Lynch.

    1 hr 34 min
  • Ep 4. 'Tenet' (w/ Hess Royale & Neb)

'Don't try to understand it. Feel it.'

Joined by special guests Rob (from 'Hess Royale') and Ben, Lil' Silky and Good Brother perform a high intensity temporal pincer operation and break down Christopher Nolan's latest film 'Tenet'.

The boys ponder what happened when, who did what how and why do anything at all?

    1 hr 35 min
  • Ep 3. 'Portrait of a Lady on Fire'

Lil' Silky and Good Brother fall hard, fast and aesthetically for Céline Sciamma's romantic period drama 'Portrait of a Lady on Fire'.

The boys talk love and beautiful faces, while butchering the pronunciations of characters from Ancient Greek mythology.

Music credit: 'Summer Mvt 3 Presto' performed by John Harrison with the Wichita State University Chamber Players.

  • Ep 2. 'Relic'

Lil' Silky and Good Brother renew their Stan subscriptions and tackle the 2020 Australian horror film 'Relic'.

Featuring creepy old ladies, creepy old houses and creepy old clichés, the boys talk what makes good horror and what to say to a school yard bully.

About Ego Hour

From the publisher's feed

Ego Hour is a (rarely) hour-long podcast hosted by the members of independent dance group ‘Ego Problem’. Each week, front man and resident film school student Lil’ Silky along with producer and just-happy-to-be-here movie-goer Good Brother, will break down and review a different film. Ego Hour gives two brothers separated by COVID (and the metro-regional Victoria border checkpoint) a chance to catch up and get objective. There will be hot-takes, there will be original music, there will be self-promotion and 'There Will Be Blood'.
