July is BLOGGER month on the show and today we’ll have in the dynamic duo behind Playlistplay, Nick and Savanna Howland to talk about their blog and the story behind it. They’ve also brought music from: Storm Circus,Whale Bones, Darkbird, Talkie and The Woodsman's Babe. This time on the Eight One Sixty we kick off Blogger Month! KC/LFK has some great music bloggers and we’re going to hang out with 4 of them over the next 4 weeks. Today we’ll visit with the queen of LFK, Fally Afani of I Heart Local Music. She’s bringing in a bunch of music from great Lawrence bands playing at Lawrence Field Day Fest 5, coming up FRI/SAT/SUN July 14-16. We’ll hear music from: Vedettes, Stiff Middle Fingers, The People's Punk Band, The Sluts, Lincoln Marshall(featuring Dominique S.), Arc Flash, Something and the Whatevers and Sunday Heroine. As you can probably imagine, we’re going to talk about and play some of our favorite tracks of the year SO FAR. We’ll hear music from these KC bands: Kristie Stremel, LION, Psychic Heat, Vigil And Thieves and Hipshot Killer. We’ll also hear music from Savages, Daughter, Mitski and The Range.

This week on the Eight One Sixty we're joined by Kristie Stremel for an interview and a live acoustic set, including an amazing song she wrote in response to the Orlando shootings. Kristie Stremel has been a music maker in and around KC since the 90’s, with Frogpond, other band ventures and also as a solo artist. She recently released a read-along book for her song, "Love Makes A Family," written for her son to explain the importance of family and to help celebrate the diversity in families today. She plays Boulevardia on Saturday night, June 18 at 7:15PM.

In the first half of the show we’ll sit down with the crew behind Crossroads Flock Party, coming up on First Friday, June 3. It’s the FREE 5th annual block party event, with 6 hours of music, food trucks and beer. We'll hear music from these bands on the lineup: Paddlefish (Springfield), THE CONQUERORS,ConductorWilliamsxWeaver and Toughies. Then, in the second half of the show we’ll sit down with the crew behind Center of the City Fest, coming up on Thursday/Friday/Saturday, June 2-4 at Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club. It’s also the 5th annual event,  featuring 45+ bands on 2 stages over 3 days for $15. We'll hear music from these bands on the lineup: Hipshot Killer, Red Kate, Deco Auto and The Electric Lungs.

This week on the show we sit down with Kansas City's own The Philistines for a live session and interview as they get ready to release their brand new album, "The Backbone of Night" on May 27 via The Record Machine; with a big album release show on June 4 at The Living Room. Also, we’ll talk about Boulevardia 2016 and hear music from a few bands playing the fest: THE ARCHITECTS, Radkey, Meg Myers,Mariachi El Bronx and English Beat.

For our 72nd episode we sit down with Katy Guillen and The Girls and hear 4 tracks from their brand new record, out on may 21 - they'll be at Knuckleheads Saloon that night along with Mikal Shapiro Music for a grand album release show, grab your tix now before it's sold out. We treat the show as a "MOTM 101 session" discussing where to go to get your wristband, where you can buy tickets, what venues are going on what days and of course we’ll talk about and hear music from bands playing the fest.
