Owen's career as a musician began early. From the age of 15 was touring in a grass roots band, learning his craft in a bid to get to level to be noticed for his songs. And that's exactly what happened.
"I never wanted to be famous, I just wanted to make the kind of music that's true to me, but unfortunately I had a smash hit and that changed everything."
One appearance on the legendary Oxford Road Show and he got signed to CBS. A world wide smash hit single and an 8 album deal. But, disillusioned by the Record Company's desire to force Owen to be a pop object, he walked away.
what happened after has created a varied CV. From running a theatre in the West End, vocal arranger for Mike & The Mechanics, Music lecturer in the States, but more recently, a prolific recording artist making the music that remains true to himself. A mainstay on the much loved Heritage Chart.
