Ramayanam, the Hindu Epic detailing the life of Shri Rama, the avatara of Lord Vishnu. Composed by Maharishi Valmiki, this Epic has 24,000 shlokas / 2 line verses. This ekashloki is a way of remembering the complete text by just reciting the key happenings.
Devotees believe that it can bestow the benefits of reading the complete text.
When we better understand the shloka, we are able to relate with it and pray with involvement.
