As we close in on the Big Game in Vegas between San Francisco and Kansas City, fans are showing their team pride through Tequila and El Bandido Yankee! KC fans will raise a toast to back-to-back World Championships and bring their legendary home field advantage to the weekend with “The Arrowhead”. Fans from San Francisco are hoping to “Strike Gold” on Sunday for a big win and will have the “Gold Rush” to show a little bling for the Big Game! Recipes for both cocktails listed below so you can make your own to get in the game and “Break Out the Bandido”.
KANSAS CITY – ‘Arrowhead’
2 oz El Bandido Yankee Blanco
.5 oz Grand Marnier
1 oz Pomegranate Juice
1 oz Lemon Lime Syrup
3 oz Soda Water
Combine all ingredients except soda water in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to chill.
Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour in cold soda water. Strain in contents of cocktail
shaker. Stir. Garnish with a football lime wedge.
Lemon Lime Syrup (how to make)
1/2 cup Lemon Juice
1/2 cup Lime Juice
1 cup Granulated Sugar
Combine ingredients in a small saucepan. Over medium, heat, stir until sugar
dissolves. Continue to simmer until mix reduces slightly. Remove from heat, bottle, and
refrigerate.
SAN FRANCISCO – ‘Bandido Gold Rush’
2 oz El Bandido Yankee Reposado
1 oz Meyer Lemon Juice
1 oz Honey Syrup
Rim a rocks glass with gold dust sugar. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail
shaker with ice. Shake to chill. Fill glass with 2-3 large cubes of ice. Strain in
contents of cocktail shaker. Garnish with a dried lemon wheel.
Honey Syrup
1 part Honey
1 part Water
Stir until combined.
