Oh dear, I have been a fan of Alan Parsons - The Alan Parsons Project since I first listened to Eye In The Sky many moons ago however, I can not say much about this release. YES the production is first class but where are the instrumental tracks. Really only the first side is of any interest to me, a real shame as I think this man's output is second to none. I really think he should consider what direction he is going in and DEFINITELY NOT cover any body elses music, he is too acomplished for that.
Must do better.

Just had to comment on closing track. Never thought I would hear AP cover this song, interesting choice. But hearing it, you can hear the inspiration drawn from this to write "Don't Answer Me" from Ammonia Avenue

Let me start by saying I consider myself as one of Alan Parsons biggest fans ever. Who else among you have all 20 vinyl albums framed in their basement plus a listening copy? This is a warm, mellow, cuddly album with mostly forgettable songs, probably will go down as my least favorite all time. But there are reasons for this. First of all, after a long hiatus the Secret (not a great album by any means but not bad and definitely better than this one) came out just 3 short years ago. So how much extra creativity can one come up with after such a long time off? Second, the man is in his 70s now so how much rocking does he want to do? And lastly, this album for the first time ever doesn't have Ian Bairnston on board as the main guitar player. That alone gives it a different flavor. And it sure would have been nice to include a classic instrumental. Anyways, maybe some songs will grow on me in 10 years or so when I'm 70. I will say though it's pretty cool framed artwork and please reissue a Valid Path on vinyl some day

I really like ‘From The New World’ more than ‘The Secret’. Great to hear Joe Bonamassa on this album too. Regarding the pressing is a lot better than some of the releases I’ve purchased recently especially this year. Side 2 suffers from pops. It’s flat considering how thin it is. Yes the gatefold is thin but I’ve seen worse. Overall great album sounds great I recommend

Some nice songs but I miss the Alan Parsons vibe. I'll listen to it again. It will probably get better with time. Not really convinced by the sound. A bit flat with little dynamics. Rather disappointing for an Alan Parsons record. There seems to be a flutter & wow problem with the song "Obstacles" on side 1. At some points it sounds like the speed is going up and down. If that's intentional, it's definitely weird. The record lacks bass and has a fairly narrow soundstage. I'm not normally too critical of record covers and inner sleeves, but the whole thing makes a rather modest impression. There is no indication of side 1 or 2 on the label. You can certainly tell by the names of the songs. But they are printed in tiny letters on the label. All in all not a masterpiece.

Great music, immaculate recording and mix; especially the 5.1 mix (although the inclusion of the final song is a bit jarring) and one of the best things from AP in quite a while, IMHO

€32.99 for a record offered as Crystal Clear, which is then unfortunately not clear but milky. Also in an unlined inner sleeve, but really in the cheapest paper sleeve that is probably on the market. On the part of the record company, this is an absolute impertinence. For Alan Parsons this is unworthy.
By the way- the dynamic sounds powerless

This was a great CD release and the sound quality was very good. DR12 and you don't see that too often in new CD releases these days. Came in a plain standard jewelcase preordered for 17€ and i can't complain. Very balanced selection of tracks, beautiful and emotional stuff. The three first tracks are absolutely wonderful!
The only bad thing that i can say is maybe there is one or two too many emotional slow tracks. Even that depends on the day i listen if i want emotional and beautiful music.
