In the first sermon of our study through the book of 1 Peter we look at the opening greeting and blessing found in 1 Peter 1:1-2. From the passage we glean three main truths:

1) All disciples of Jesus are elect exiles

2) All disciples of Jesus are elect exiles according to the foreknowledge and election of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and growth in holiness

3) All disciples of Jesus are set apart in receiving abundant grace and peace
