WHAT U MISSED was some musically delicious FUNK HOUSE, curated with love by MOI! After a very interesting hurricaine last weekend that dumped LOTS of needed water on Southern California, I returned to the Electrik Cakery to bake us up two hours of straight FUNKALICIOUSNESS. You know, a lot of these tracks I have the blessing of to enjoy a second time around, because of some extra tasty reimagining from talented producers and vocalists. A lot of this music translated me back to my club kid days, when partying till the wee hours followed by working the opening breakfast shift at Mc Donald's was a weekly thang for me - I was a member of the "no sleep express" for many years, dancing the night away. In this, the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, I mixed up a batch of some HISTORY! This show is a little about the pioneers of HIP HOUSE!

Hip house emerged as a result of the convergence of two influential musical genres: hip-hop and house music. Hip-hop, rooted in African American and Afro-Caribbean communities, brought forth powerful beats, rhythmic vocal delivery, and socially conscious lyrics. House music, on the other hand, originated in Chicago's underground clubs, blending electronic beats, synthesizers, and soulful vocals.

In session 120, we celebrate the arrival of summer 2023 with some bangin TECHNO!!

On session 119 I gave a double serving of deliciousness! First we had the Music Video Debut of our new release from the Musical Polyptych series - Eddie Amador/Coco Street "Never Too Late" (Saekone Space Acid Remix), which flowed right into the Artist Spotlight showcasing the Acid Techno Goodness of SAEKONE_Music!
