The frenulum can be found in several locations, such as under the tongue (lingual frenulum), inside the lips (labial frenulum), or on the underside of the penis (penile frenulum).

Stitchless frenuloplasty, also known as sutureless frenuloplasty, is a surgical procedure performed to address a condition known as frenulum breve. The frenulum is a band of tissue located on the underside of the penis, connecting the glans (head) to the shaft.

At first, a local anesthetic cream is applied to the penis and prepuce of newborns or infants. The penile skin is numbed after 15-30 minutes and subsequent injection of long-acting local anesthesia becomes almost painless. The plastibell is placed between the penis glans and the prepuce.
