We begin our new year with a series about living by more than motivation, but living a life on mission. As followers of Jesus, we have been enfolded into a mission that can truly change the world. In 2 Corinthians 5, the Apostle Paul shows us why we are now compelled to go and share the Good News. In a nut shell: rescued people, rescue people.

We have enjoyed this Christmas season and this past year of all God has done in us and through us. Tonight we reflect back on some of our 2015 adventures and pray for the ones yet to come in 2016. The best is yet to come friends. Thank you for partnering with what God is up to in and through Elements City Church.

We remember the reason for the season and the light that shown the Angels announcement of the Savior's birth. God sent a Savior which is what we needed first and foremost.

Prayer is the invitation for us to connect relationally with God and ask for His activity to be released in our lives and the lives of others. We can bring our requests before God (see Philippians 4:2-6), but we're also invited to join in God's grander story by seeking His will for others. When we pray for others - we're seeking their best before God. Prayer is not about special words you use. Love this reminder: “The power of prayer is not in the one who prays but in the one who hears it." (Max Lucado)

Quick - think of all the ways in games and sporting events that we 'keep score'? Do you know people that keep score relationally? Have you ever found yourself doing that? Instead of letting forgiveness flow within your relationships, we may lean toward grudges and soon bitterness puts down its roots as we mentally and emotionally keep score that 'they owe us'. Tonight we're looking at what Jesus has to say about forging the habit of forgiveness within our hearts.
