Join us for part three of our series entitled "Light" where we walk through the Bible and see what God has to say about the subject of light.

Today, we'll be discussing the story of Gideon and his 300 men, and how God used a small number of people and some light to win a battle against a huge army and turn the tide of a war.

The first words recorded in the Bible spoken by God are, "Let there be light." Jesus calls himself and his followers the "light of the world." Join us as we kick off a new series, called "Light."

Sometimes,we will, as Christians, replace God with our religion. We will mistake Bible knowledge or church attendance or theology with knowing and being close to Jesus. That's such a big mistake because there is nothing like knowing the person of Christ rather than just belonging to the religion of Christianity! What would our world and church look like if we changed our focus?

As we wrap up our series on the prodigal son, we ask the question: in the story, who was the REAL prodigal? Who was the one who gave something away, extravagantly?

Sometimes, a change in thinking is necessary. When we 'shift gears,' we turn our attention from something to something else. In the story of the prodigal son, when the young man realizes just how far he's fallen, he has a choice to make: to stay where he is, or return home to his father. That question is being asked of us, too - will we stay where we are? Or will we run back home to the Father, who loves us?

We've all been there. A place where we feel our absolute lowest. Where we feel like it can't get any worse. Where is God when you find yourself in the mud and dirt? Waiting for you to come home.

Sometimes, it's easy to forget that God, our Father, loves us despite what we've done or where we've been. Sometimes, even when we want to 'repent' we focus on our badness rather than Jesus' goodness! Join us as we discuss today.
