"You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God." (2Co 9:11 ESV) Generosity is the proof that believers have the revelation of God's grace. If we truly believe God has poured His abundant grace into us, generosity should be regularly pouring out of us.
If there was ever a time to feel less than enthusiastic about the state of our world, it would be now. However, ``enthusiastic" literally means "God within". This puts a whole new twist on how and when we can be enthusiastic. If God is in us, how can we not be enthused about good defeating evil, right prevailing over wrong, and truth standing in the midst of lies. Most believers are familiar with the encouragement from Heb. 12:2 to look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. To the Greek culture of the first century this was a vivid picture of an athlete running a race with his eyes on the goal. There is, however, another way to read this verse that is much more intimate. The word picture could be expressed as the locked-on look of a bride and groom as they look intently at each other as they express their covenant vows.
The scriptures have much to say about treasure. Jesus taught that our hearts will always be located wherever our treasures are. God has treasures, too, and He keeps it in a very special place. If you follow God's treasure map it leads right to us!
