In an Elevating Educators Exclusive the leaders of the CCSD Parents sit down for their first interview together.   We talk about the issues facing the Clark County School District from a parens perspective.  Including how parents struggle to get information to help their students succeed and how the group has become a one stop shop to help parents.   We also talk about parent engagement through many lenses, how they inform parents about issues such as the marijuana money.   How leaders in Nevada are working with them to get information out and much more. 

It's coming up to be the first week of school in southern Nevada, and teachers are getting ready for the new year.   Jessica, and Ryan along with guest and teacher Leah Wikler, talk about how to get the year off on the right start.  But first, the three of them talk about teaching in China.  What is the differences between teaching in China and in the States?  How are things similar?   Do they still teach common core?  Its a conversation that may make you rethink about teaching abroad. 

This week Jessica and Ryan sit down with Roxanne James principal of Jerome Mack Middle School.   Mrs. James answers questions from viewers on a wide variety of topics including discipline and bullying at school,  what is Title 1 and its misconceptions and biases.  She also answers questions on how does she handle relationships with her staff, and if the pilot school money for CCSD  (the extra 10 thousand dollars) has any impact on how she runs her school.   This, and we gush over her dog Rigley as well.

Kindergarten is the beginning of a child's educational career.  There is a lot for the student and parents to learn.  What should the child learn?  What should the parent do in order to help their child succeed?   Jessica and Ryan sit down with Jessica's husband, a kindergarten teacher to discuss how to get kids ready on their educational adventure. 

Plus Ryan and Jessica become fashionistas and discuss the best way to be casual and professional at the same time, in terms of teaching attire.
