We will close our 1 John series with this week's theme "Confident in Jesus." In 1 John 5:14-21, John concludes His letter. Based on what He has said about Jesus, as life, light and love. That Jesus is God and the source of our salvation John wants the church to be confident in Him. And this confidence is seen in two ways; confident in prayer & that we know God. Which leads to us living in Him confidently.

As we continue our 1 John series this weeks theme is "Knowing God." In 1 John 4:1-12, John tells that we know God in a personal and experiential way, through two important aspects, through truth and through love.

Our message this week continue our 1 John series based around Life, Light & Love. This weeks theme is "children born of God" will close off the walking in the light section as John speaks about the nature of those born of God. He will continue a contrast as he compares with those he calls the devils children. And the fact those born of God will walk in God's nature.

This weeks theme is "Antichrists and Christians" as we look at what John says about the last hour and our need to persevere, as we continue to look at the bigger theme of walking in the light.

After writing about light & dark and calling the church to walk in the light John, as a pastor,

writes to inform the church how they should walk in the light,by walking as Jesus walked.

This Sunday we be returning to 1st John and the theme of light & darkness. Three weeks ago Jamie spoke about God is light. To know God you must be in the light. And so as we continue John brings that into two main areas our lives, fellowship & sin, and what it looks like to walk in the light.

Iain Hesketh was due to be our guest speaker this weekend in person, we are delighted that he will still be with us via video as our guest speaker.

Iain is married to Rachel & they have two wonderful children. Iain is also Elim's International Missions Director with a passion for both discipleship & mission which he will be sharing with us this Sunday.

This Sunday is Pentecost. A time when we reflect on the Holy Spirit's work in and through the church. This week Pastor Jamie will be reflecting on that first Pentecost and the scattering of the church in Acts 8 and exploring what God may do in this years Pentecost and our scattering.
