Have you ever had to make a really tough decision?
One that could be consider risky?
A decision where it felt like your whole life could change?
And while trying to come up with which choice would be the best, you find yourself being pulled back and forth.
One minute you know it’s the best choice you could make, but then the next day you find yourself questioning that choice again?
Well, I share this with you because this is exactly where I have been lately.
To give you a little more background on me, I am not a person who sits around and waits.
I have always been a person who just jumps into things and takes actions.
This has been something that has benefited me in a lot of different ways, but it has also been something that has created a lot of unnecessary problems/challenges for myself.
Getting myself into situations where I could have avoided them if I would have thought it through a little more clear.
But more importantly if I would have stayed clear on what I actually wanted in life.
You see as I sat and pondered on which choice was going to be the best or right choice.
As I went to my wife and asked her on what I should do, I was completely lost at what I should do.
But then I remember hearing my coaches and mentors voice in my head and asking me the question:
“MATT WHAT DO YOU WANT?"
It was at that very moment that I realized that, that was the only question I needed to answer to make the choice I needed to make.
Because once you know what you truly want in life, the only choices you need to make in life are those that will bring you closer to what you want, NOTHING ELSE!
Had I have stayed focused 6 months ago, I would have realized that the choice I made was not aligned with what I wanted in life and would take me away from what I wanted to create in life.
So here’s the valuable lesson from this, GET CLEAR ON WHAT YOU WANT IF YOU WANT TO CREATE THE LIFE YOU WANT!
Having talked to many clients through my career, one of the most common answer I get to the question What do you want is...
I don’t know!
My response to them is always well don’t you think this is going to make it hard for you to ever work towards anything?
Which we usually both laugh, because it’s at that moment my client will realize how simple it is, but how often it is the one question that they had never considered asking themselves.
Here’s the POWER of getting clear, when you are clear you know EXACTLY what daily actions you must take in order for you to create the outcome.
Think about how much easier it would be if you knew what:
*Body and Health you wanted? Not just 10 LBS gone, but to have abs, to have tons of energy, and just not be limited by your health. Wouldn’t it make avoiding that piece of cake easier to decline? Some of you may have said, “NO” well then it’s time for you to start telling the truth to yourself because what you actually want is cake which must mean you don’t want what I stated above. It’s ok nothing wrong with it, but it’s always better when you learn to tell the truth.
*What about your spirituality? What if you got clear on what spirituality actually meant for you and what it looked like for you? Then how would that change who or what your worshipped or even how you lived your life?
*What about your marriage? How different would you show up if you got clear on the kind of marriage and relationship with your kids you wanted? What daily actions would you have change or become better at doing if you were to create that marriage and relationship with your kids?
*What about your finances? What would you have to do differently today? What kind of career or business must you be in in order for you to create the kind of financial freedom you are wanting?
I would just have you consider that the moment you FINALLY just get clear on what you it is that you actually want in life, the sooner you will STOP doing ANYTHING that does not bring you closer to what you actually do want.
This is why CLARITY IS POWER!
The moment you get clear in life, it makes the doing that much easier.
