I began my podcasts in a rather unexpected way about five years ago. I had occasionally written opinion pieces and autobiographical sketches for the Elk Grove News.  One evening, Dan Gougherty, the owner and editor of the Elk Grove News, and I were sitting in a bar enjoying a few Pabst Blue Ribbons and discussing just about everything but nothing in particular.

As it was in 2018, this year’s Elk Grove mayoral race, has drawn the attention of an independent expenditure committee that has already spent $192,000 in opposition to incumbent mayor Steve Lee.
