How do you advocate for stories that need to be amplified and recognized? In episode 67 of Ellas, I had the wonderful opportunity to speak with Josie Meléndez who driven by love for her culture, she approaches storytelling while dedicating her life and career to advocate for female-driven Latinx and Caribbean stories to be amplified in film. Josie is an entertainment journalist and founder of Film Posers, a platform hosted by four Boricuas dedicated to analyzing film and television from their cultural perspective. How do you provide your perspective in the space that you occupy? In episode 65 of Ellas, I talk with Rosa Parra about providing her Latinx Lens in film criticism. Rosa is a Chicana Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic, co-founder, and co-host of Latinx Lens (one of my favorite film podcasts). She is also a member of various critics associations and advocates for representation, diversity, and inclusion.
