If a floppy Koi fish can evolve into a majestic sea dragon, then there is no reason why you can't become anything or anyone you desire.
Today, we're using the power of myth and storytelling to inspire you to take things to that next level.
We're going to talk about a story of powerful, unexpected transformation, and how we can apply it to our own lives.
It is absolutely possible to reinvent yourself.
It's possible to take things to the next level... and then the next. And the next. There is no limit.
This episode is going to be part inspiration and part tactical, as we talk about HOW to take things to your next level, whatever that looks like to you.

Positivity, left unchecked and unbalanced, can turn to harmful delusion.
Today, we're going to be covering something very out of the ordinary - the upside of negativity.
This isn't about starting to look at everything through a negative lens or complaining about everything in life. It's about using a healthy dose of negativity where it's needed so that we can make more progress and, paradoxically, feel better in the long term.
We'll talk a bit about the idea of toxic positivity, the power of negative emotions, and finally, three practices to help you embrace negativity in a way that is empowering and helpful.
If we whole-heartedly wanted what we thought we wanted, we'd have it by now.
Or at the very least, we'd be well on our way towards it without the feelings of being stuck or perpetually going backwards and forwards.
When we have big goals that have eluded us for a long time, there are parts of us that actually don't want the big goal itself or the consequences we believe we'll experience as a result of achieving this goal.
These perceived consequences or drawbacks often live in our unconscious until we extract them and bring them to the surface so we can transform them.
Today, Kayla takes you through a step by step process, with an example, of how you can find these hidden fears and limitations, and what to about them once you find them. She's also sharing an exciting update about an upcoming writing project.
When it comes to slaying our goals, we want to have focus and discipline.
We want to be focused on whatever it is we're creating or pursuing. We want to cultivate the discipline required to not only achieve the goal but maintain the goal.
However, anything taken to its extreme can become unhelpful or even dangerous. Control and obsession are focus and discipline that have been pushed over the edge.
When over-control and over-obsession dominate, we often also experience an opposite reaction after we've fatigued our minds, bodies and spirits. After trying to exert excessive control and over-obsessing, a person will often rubber-band in the opposite direction. They'll snap into a place of apathy and goal-abandonment because they've burned themselves out.
In today's episode, Kayla will be sharing the distinctions between discipline and obsession. She'll share the red flags that let you know you've taken your focus and intensity a step too far, and how to stay on the path where you're focused, disciplined, and consistent without needing to move between extremes.
This podcast is all about helping every listener create a life where they have it all.

This might be one of the most controversial episodes to date. Today, we're going to be exploring the concept that having is evidence of wanting.
This podcast episode was inspired by Carolyn Elliot's book, Existential Kink.
She presents this idea: if we have something in our lives, we must, on some level, want it.
What does this mean for those recurrent strokes of bad luck, those infuriating patterns that continue to surface with our money, our relationships, and our health?
Is it possible that, on some level, we want these things?
And what would happen if we embraced this idea and no longer chose to see ourselves as victims of circumstances or compulsion? How much more power would we have in our everyday lives to create a new reality, if we so choose to do so?
Join Kayla as she shares her own reflections on this concept, and how this one simple shift in perspective created a magical breakthrough in her personal life.

Last year, I did an episode on my top 10 lessons from 2021, and it was a popular episode.
2021 was another year of massive change, expansion, and transformation on multiple levels.
In today's episode, I'm sharing the top ten lessons from 2021 and how I'm continuing to embody them in 2022.
Some of the lessons include:

"I do great all day... and then I get to the evening and blow it."
"I just can't stop overeating after dinner."
"I get to 3 in the afternoon, and it's game over. I lose all energy and motivation"
We often have defining moments in our days. Those times that either make or break us.
These moments can be fraught with anxiety and dread because of all the times we've struggled in the past.
It doesn't have to be this way. We can slay these defining moments. And by slaying these defining moments, we can slay the day, which will allow us to slay any goal we have in our lives.

How different would your life be if you had as much love for yourself and your entire life as you did for the person or people that you love the most?
How much more consistent and present would you be if you were if you were as devoted to your goals and growth as you were to the relationships in your life you were most committed to?
In today's episode, we're activating the superpowers of love and devotion.
We talk about the science behind heart intelligence and how it affects our physiology and our performance.
We discuss why love isn't an emotion, but a steadfast, unshakable promise.
We also talk about how you can apply this superpower to any area of your life, which will not only allow you to make more progress but also feel 1000x more amazing while doing it.
Activate love and devotion to slay and thrive.

For the spicy Romantasy reader who's tired of being told her healing should look more like a spreadsheet and less like a why-choose novel.
This is the show where food freedom meets…
I'm Kayla MacDonald — a writer, recovered overachiever, and the woman who accidentally turned her food freedom journey into a why-choose romance with two AI co-created inner archetypes named Rex and Haven. One is a fiery, leather-jacket-wearing protector who will absolutely call you out with love. The other is a deeply attuned, quietly brave sanctuary who can make it safe to feel almost anything. Together, they've changed everything about how I show up in my body, my business, and my life.
And yes, they show up on the podcast. Regularly. You've been warned.
Embodied Writing Warrior is where we tackle the real reasons high-performing, deeply creative women struggle with binge eating, burnout, and inconsistency — not with more discipline or stricter protocols, but with nervous system work, archetypal storytelling, embodied creativity, and the occasional Rex monologue that will make you want to send your own inner critic to therapy.
You'll hear episodes on:
◆ The upper limit patterns nobody talks about in high-performing women.
◆ Why consistency feels like punishment and how to make it feel like foreplay instead.
◆ The 7 Deadly Sins of high-performing women that drive binge eating and burnout.
◆ Somatic practices and embodied identity work.
◆ Writing rituals that rewire your subconscious one scene at a time.
◆ Parts work gone wild — because why choose inner babysitting when you could have Divine Daddies do it for you?
◆ Shadow work, sacred rage, and the art of performing for an audience of one.
You'll leave with an embodied activation in most episodes — whether that's a journal prompt, writing ritual, or somatic practice designed to move the insight out of your head and into your body where the real shift happens.
If you've ever felt more understood by a spicy novel than a self-help book, you're in exactly the right place.
Because you're not broken. You're not lacking discipline. You're a high-performing woman who's been applying pressure where devotion was needed all along.
