Kicking off our 9-week series in 1 Peter, we explore what it means to be "elect exiles" — God's chosen people who don't fit in a post-Christian world. The early Christians thrived in hostile pagan cultures by embracing their Jesus-centric weirdness, and we face a strikingly similar situation today. This sermon establishes our core identity: elected by the Father, sprinkled by the blood of the Son, and set apart by the Spirit. When we know whose we are, we discover living hope through Christ's resurrection, which transforms everything—even our suffering.
