Embracing the Word, Reaching the World

An interview with three LBS students who recently returned from a seminary “mission vision” trip to Taiwan where they met Lutheran Brethren missionaries and saw first-hand what their ministry looks like. The students share their main take-away from their experience and how this experience will enhance their future pastoral ministry.

In this interview, Dr. Daniel Berge shares his journey to LBS, discussing how his background in ancient Mediterranean studies enhances his understanding and teaching of the NT as the living Word.

Dr. Gaylan Mathiesen, professor of mission and evangelism at Lutheran Brethren Seminary, joins us today for an interview in which we process the content of this year’s J-Term Conference. Topics include a discussion of the place of the church in an increasingly secular western culture.
