    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

In this episode of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder sits down with Mr. Embrogo, also known as Q, to explore his embroidery-on-the-go business. Recorded at Deco Summit in Miami, this conversation covers mobile embroidery, getting started with pop-up events, and creating memorable customer experiences through live personalization.

Mr. Embrogo shares how his business evolved from a garage setup to a trailer, a Sprinter van, and curated live embroidery experiences. He recalls an early beach event involving Hurley and Rip Curl and explains why watching customers connect with their personalized items changed how he approached his work. For him, the value goes beyond the stitches. It is about the story, the interaction, and the keepsake someone takes home.

In this episode, you will hear about:

    • The difference between pop-up embroidery and curated live experiences.
    • Researching event opportunities and learning from other embroidery businesses.
    • Testing your concept before investing in a van or custom display.
    • Keeping your embroidery menu simple with limited designs, fonts, and thread colors.
    • Choosing products such as hats, shirts, hoodies, socks, and bandanas.
    • Using customer conversations to create meaningful personalized pieces.
    • Learning from mistakes instead of waiting for a perfect setup.
    • Building industry connections and taking your first step into on-site embroidery.

Whether you are exploring a mobile embroidery business or looking for a new way to connect with customers, this episode offers a starting point for turning personalization into an experience.

  • Episode 21: Riches Are In The Embroidery Niches - How To Find Yours

Grab the free SOS - Stitchout guide for quick fixes for UGLY LEFT CHEST LOGOS

    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

In this episode of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder shares how to find a profitable niche for your embroidery, laser engraving, DTF, or personalized-product business. Through real examples, Hope explains how moving beyond FOMO and becoming known for a specific audience, product, or technique can help you become the go-to person in your market.

Hope shares the story of a one-to-one coaching student, Joe, who found a niche hiding in plain sight. Joe is a pilot with access to a high-level pilot community. By turning aircraft photos into custom line art and engraving personalized tumblers with call signs and tail numbers, he created a specialized product for people he already knows. Before he even left the studio, one of his pilot friends wanted to buy one.

This episode also covers why niching down does not mean turning away all other work. It means attracting more of the right work, building stronger referrals, delivering exceptional quality, and giving clients a clear reason to choose you instead of another general embroidery shop.

In this episode, you will learn:

    • Why FOMO can keep embroidery and laser businesses average at too many things.
    • How to find a profitable niche using the communities you already belong to.
    • How to combine a specific audience, product, and technique to create a stronger niche.
    • Why quality, service, and a specialized offer make it harder for competitors to copy you.
    • How to use your access to church groups, sports teams, booster clubs, hospitals, contractor networks, parent groups, hobby communities, or professional organizations.
    • How personalized products can command more value when they are built around the customer’s identity, interests, or profession.
    • Why a niche can evolve as you develop new skills and get better client feedback.
    • How to start small by choosing one community and one or two products to do exceptionally well.
    • Your niche may be custom embroidered patches, personalized pilot gifts, sports-team gear, hospital appreciation gifts, contractor-branded items, country-western products, church merchandise, laser-engraved real estate gifts, or something unique to the people you already know.

Stop trying to be everything to everyone. Start becoming the obvious choice for someone.

  • Episode 20: Nobody Wants to Do This Embroidery Job. But the Bikers Need You To

Grab the free SOS - Stitchout guide for quick fixes for UGLY LEFT CHEST LOGOS

    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

In this episode of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder explains why patches can be a powerful blue ocean opportunity for embroidery businesses. While many shops compete for the same polos, left-chest logos, jackets, and standard apparel orders, custom patches, biker patches, rider club patches, chenille patches, varsity-style patches, and large back patches may offer an underserved market with less local competition.

Hope shares why many embroidery shops avoid patches, including the need for proper digitizing, stabilizers, equipment, patch borders, and a repeatable process. But avoidance creates opportunity. When competitors keep turning away patch orders, the shop that learns how to produce quality patches can become the trusted local resource customers have been searching for.

In this episode, you will learn:

    • What a blue ocean strategy looks like in the embroidery industry.
    • Why competing only for standard embroidery jobs can limit growth.
    • Why custom patches may be a profitable embroidery niche.
    • The opportunity in biker patches, rider club patches, military-style patches, varsity patches, and custom logo patches.
    • Why some embroidery shops outsource patches instead of producing them in-house.
    • How white-label patch production can create business-to-business opportunities.
    • Why motorcycle shops and rider clubs may need a reliable local patch supplier.
    • How chenille patches can create a higher-value add-on for an embroidery business.
    • How to identify the jobs your competitors will not take.
    • Why becoming the “only yes” in a market full of “no” can help your embroidery business stand out.
    • The point is bigger than patches. Your blue ocean may be corporate gift sets, team uniforms, baby items, laser and embroidery bundles, or another specialized service your market cannot easily find. Look for the work customers keep requesting, competitors keep rejecting, and you are willing to learn how to do well.

Learn how to make high-quality patches:

Hope’s Patch It Perfect course includes patch training, done-for-you design files, and instruction on freestanding patches, woven-style patches, satin borders, merrow-style borders, and more. https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

A big embroidery order is not automatically a profitable one. Before you offer contract embroidery pricing, understand how production capacity, labor, equipment, and repeat orders affect your business.

In this episode of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder talks with Joe Perez of Heart and Hustle Printing about contract embroidery, bulk embroidery pricing, and scaling a commercial embroidery shop. Joe shares his journey from a single-head machine at home to a storefront operating 11 embroidery heads with a team.

Why can a multi-head shop approach pricing differently from someone stitching one garment at a time? Hope and Joe discuss production efficiency, client expectations, and why copying another shop’s rates without understanding your own setup can be a mistake. They also explore qualifying B2B clients, charging for additional work, and keeping repeat orders organized.

    In this episode, we cover:

    • Single-head vs. multi-head embroidery production.
    • Pricing large orders without racing to the bottom.
    • Building client relationships before offering contract rates.
    • Digitizing fees, additional embroidery locations, hooping, and garment unbagging.
    • Team responsibilities, quality control, and production preparation.
    • Organizing approved DST files for consistent repeat orders.
    • Investing in Mighty Hoops, extra hoops, hooping stations, and compatible brackets.

Whether you run a home embroidery business or want to expand into high-volume commercial embroidery, this conversation offers a behind-the-scenes look at the systems and decisions involved in taking on larger jobs.

Find Joe Perez on Instagram and YouTube at Heart and Hustle Printing. Hope also discusses private one-to-one training at the Embroidery Profit Academy in Sarasota, Florida.

Grab the free SOS - Stitchout guide for quick fixes for UGLY LEFT CHEST LOGOS

    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

Have you ever received client feedback that made you question yourself, your process, or whether you were good enough to win the job?

In this episode of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder shares a real-time story about nearly losing a major embroidery client, not because of poor embroidery work, but because she unintentionally handed her expertise back to the client. What started as a request involving precise brand color requirements became a powerful lesson in client communication, attention to detail, business ownership, and using feedback to grow

Hope breaks down what happened when a prospective large client requested thread colors aligned with specific RGB brand standards. Instead of owning the color-matching process, Hope initially directed the client to her thread supplier. The client’s response highlighted an important truth for every embroidery shop owner: clients hire you for your expertise, problem-solving, and ability to remove friction from their process.

This episode is for embroidery business owners, custom apparel decorators, and makers who want to handle negative feedback professionally, retain high-value clients, improve their systems, and build long-term business relationships.

In this episode, you will learn:

    • Why client feedback is valuable, even when it stings.
    • How to respond to criticism without becoming defensive or firing back emotionally.
    • Why large embroidery clients expect vendors to take ownership and solve problems.
    • How to turn a mistake into a better embroidery business process.
    • Why thread color matching and brand consistency matter for corporate embroidery clients.
    • How to improve client communication and reduce friction during the quoting and order process.
    • Why attention to detail can matter more than competing on price.
    • How to apologize, own your role, and respond with professionalism when a client raises a concern.
    • How to turn feedback into stronger systems, better service, and deeper client trust.
    • Why you should document embroidery specifications, including thread colors, hoops, needles, stabilizers, and other job details for repeat orders.

The lesson is simple: feedback does not have to break your confidence. It can recalibrate you, expose the gaps in your process, and help you become the expert your clients need. Slow down, own the mistake, avoid excuses, communicate clearly, and use every challenge to build a better embroidery business.

Grab the free SOS - Stitchout guide for quick fixes for UGLY LEFT CHEST LOGOS

    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

Could your embroidery business be at risk because of copyright or trademark infringement?

In this episode of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder breaks down what embroidery business owners need to understand before selling designs, apparel, patches, engraved products, DTF transfers, or other custom items that include brand names, logos, characters, sports teams, college names, military marks, or celebrity likenesses.

Many makers see Disney, NFL, college, Nike, Marvel, Star Wars, or other recognizable designs for sale online and assume it is allowed. But seeing a product on Etsy, Facebook, or at a craft show does not confirm that the seller has permission or a valid license. This episode focuses on why small businesses need to protect themselves, research requests before accepting an order, and prioritize original designs or properly licensed artwork.

Hope shares practical examples from the embroidery and fabric-design industry, including personal-use designs built into certain embroidery machines, licensed sports fabric, client requests involving trademarked event names, the risks of selling copyrighted designs online, and ways to offer customers a safe alternative when you need to turn down a request.

In this episode, you will learn:

    • The difference between copyright and trademarks in an embroidery business.
    • Why changing colors, redrawing artwork, or altering a design does not automatically make it safe to sell.
    • Why Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, sports teams, colleges, military branches, and recognizable brand logos require caution and may require permission or licensing for commercial use.
    • What “personal use only” means for embroidery designs and licensed fabric.
    • Why buying a design, embroidery machine, or fabric does not automatically grant commercial resale rights.
    • How to evaluate customer requests for logos, event names, celebrity likenesses, and branded designs.
    • How to respond professionally when you need to say no to a custom order.
    • Why original artwork, client-owned logos, public-domain material, and designs with an appropriate commercial license may be safer paths, subject to the terms that apply.
    • How to use the USPTO’s TMsearch database as part of your trademark research process.
    • Why it is important to consult a qualified intellectual-property attorney for legal advice on a specific design, request, or licensing question.

A single order is not worth putting the business you have worked hard to build at risk. Do your research, keep your standards high, offer creative alternatives, and build a profitable embroidery business with original and properly authorized work.

Grab the free SOS - Stitchout guide for quick fixes for UGLY LEFT CHEST LOGOS

    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

Are you overwhelmed by quotes, invoices, ordering blanks, shipping, customer emails, and all the day-to-day tasks of running your embroidery business?

Before you hire a virtual assistant or add another employee, you need simple systems that make training easy. In this episode of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder shares how embroidery shop owners can create SOPs, playbooks, and short training videos to document repetitive tasks, delegate with confidence, and build a business that does not depend on you doing everything yourself.

You do not need a complicated operations manual or expensive software to get started. Hope breaks down a practical approach inspired by the “Camcorder Method” from Buy Back Your Time: record yourself completing one task, talk through each step, save the video, and turn it into a clear written SOP with AI. The result is a repeatable training system your virtual assistant, in-house staff, or future team members can follow.

In this episode, you’ll learn how to:

    • Create simple SOPs for your embroidery business.
    • Choose a screen-recording tool such as Camtasia, QuickTime, Loom, or an available PC recording tool.
    • Identify the first task to delegate to a virtual assistant.
    • Document quoting, invoicing, ordering blanks, shipping, and embroidery machine tasks.
    • Build detailed, repeatable invoices using product part numbers, colors, sizes, and quantities.
    • Record screen-share SOPs for admin work and phone-video SOPs for embroidery machine operations.
    • Use an AI tool to turn a recorded training video into a one-page written SOP.
    • Organize SOPs in Google Drive so your team can access and improve living documents.
    • Keep each SOP focused on one small task, making it easy to find, follow, and update.

If you are ready to stop multitasking, free up time, and build systems that help your embroidery shop grow, start with one five-minute SOP today. Record one task you repeat often, create the written instructions, and make it easier for your future team to succeed.

Grab the free SOS - Stitchout guide for quick fixes for UGLY LEFT CHEST LOGOS

    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

Want to grow your embroidery business and invest in new equipment without drowning in debt? In this episode of The Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder shares the real-world strategies she uses to fund embroidery equipment, make smarter business investments, and decide when a purchase will actually generate revenue.

Hope calls her approach “Dave Ramsey-ing it”—looking for money already sitting inside your business before automatically turning to financing. She shares how selling an embroidery machine she was no longer using generated $10,000 in cash, allowing her to purchase a roughly $5,000 machine outright and put the remaining money into savings.

But growing debt-free doesn’t mean never spending money. Hope explains how she evaluates ROI, production efficiency, revenue potential, and business needs before investing in equipment. She walks through the decision to upgrade to a dual heat press that could dramatically increase production capacity while reducing employee fatigue—turning an equipment purchase into a strategic investment instead of an impulse buy.

You’ll also hear Hope and her husband Marv’s different perspectives on borrowing money for business growth, why your personal risk tolerance matters, and the question Hope believes every embroidery business owner should ask before buying another machine:

What is your fastest path to revenue?

In this episode, you’ll learn how to:

    • Find hidden cash by selling unused embroidery machines, cutters, cameras, equipment, and other assets
    • Separate equipment you want from equipment your business actually needs
    • Evaluate the ROI of a new embroidery machine or heat press
    • Avoid buying equipment just because other makers are buying it
    • Decide when paying cash makes sense and when financing may be worth considering
    • Identify the products and services that can generate revenue fastest
    • Use existing customers to create additional sales opportunities
    • Build toward bigger equipment purchases with a clear financial plan
    • Grow your embroidery business without adding unnecessary financial stress

Hope also gives you practical homework: take 20 minutes, walk through your studio or home, identify everything you haven’t used in a year, research what those items are selling for, and list the item that could bring in the most cash first.

Your next embroidery machine may be more affordable than you think—you may just need to find the money you already have.

If you’re building an embroidery business, custom apparel business, DTF business, or decorated apparel company, subscribe to The Embroidery Profit Podcast for practical strategies on pricing, profitability, equipment, sales, production, and growing a business that actually makes money.

  • Episode 14: Never Do This Or You'll Lose Your Customer?

Grab the free SOS - Stitchout guide for quick fixes for UGLY LEFT CHEST LOGOS

    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

Are you making a simple embroidery business mistake that could cost you a customer?

In this episode of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder breaks down what to do when a client sees a digitized embroidery rendering and suddenly wants to cancel their order—and, more importantly, how to prevent it from happening in the first place.

A digitized rendering is NOT the finished embroidery. It can look flat, show inaccurate colors, and lack the texture and dimension of a real stitch-out. Instead of sending that rendering to your customer, Hope explains why you should test the design on scrap fabric first, make any necessary digitizing revisions, photograph the actual stitch-out, and get your client’s approval before moving into production.

You’ll also learn how to create stronger systems for your embroidery business, including:

✅ Why you should never show clients a digitized rendering

✅ How to properly test an embroidery design before production

✅ Why real stitch-outs build more customer confidence

✅ How to photograph embroidery samples professionally

✅ Why written customer approval can protect your business

✅ The pros and cons of deposits vs. 100% payment upfront

✅ How payment policies reduce your financial risk

✅ Why documenting thread colors, stabilizers, needles, placement, and other job details matters

✅ How repeatable systems can help turn an embroidery hobby into a profitable business

✅ How better processes can lead to repeat customers and easier reorders

Hope also shares a real-world lesson from a $4,100 embroidery order that showed her exactly why documenting every detail of a customer’s job is essential for future reorders.

Whether you’re starting an embroidery business, running an established embroidery shop, learning embroidery digitizing, or trying to make your custom embroidery business more profitable, this episode will help you develop professional systems that protect your time, money, and customer relationships.

  • Episode 13: Wholesale Secrets Nobody Tells You.

Grab the free SOS - Stitchout guide for quick fixes for UGLY LEFT CHEST LOGOS

    https://hopeyoder.myflodesk.com/guide

Wholesale secrets nobody tells you about embroidery blanks, pricing tiers, shipping, resale licenses, and inventory. In Episode 13 of the Embroidery Profit Podcast, Hope Yoder explains how embroidery business owners can source blanks smarter, protect cash flow, and keep more profit from every order.

If you have been buying embroidery blanks from Amazon, craft stores, Hobby Lobby, or other retail sources, this episode will help you rethink your supply chain. Hope shares practical wholesale strategies for embroidery businesses—especially those serving B2B clients such as contractors, plumbers, corporate teams, schools, and local businesses.

You’ll learn why starting with large amounts of inventory may hurt your business, how to create a profitable sample collection, and how wholesale distributor relationships can improve your pricing over time. Hope also breaks down the difference between true wholesale suppliers and middlemen, including examples such as SanMar, S&S Activewear, AlphaBroder, JiffyShirts, and OneStop. Episode-13_Wholesale-Secrets-Nobody-Tells-You-Transcript.txt

    In this episode
    • Why new embroidery businesses should usually avoid holding excess inventory.
    • How job-by-job ordering helps protect cash flow and reduce overhead.
    • How to build an embroidery sample collection one garment at a time.
    • Why B2B embroidery clients can create higher-profit, lower-effort opportunities.
    • How to choose wholesale blank apparel distributors based on warehouse proximity and delivery speed.
    • The difference between true wholesale sourcing and retail or middleman pricing.
    • How preferred pricing tiers can lower your costs as your spending with one supplier grows.
    • What you need to open a wholesale account, including a registered business and state resale license.
    • How sales tax, payment terms, credit-card processing fees, and shipping policies affect your margins.
    • How to use vendor shipping costs as an upsell or client-facing option.
    • Which garments are best for embroidery versus DTF transfers.
    • Why beginners should be cautious when accepting customer-supplied garments.
    Key takeaway

You do not need a warehouse full of blanks to run a profitable embroidery business. Keep overhead low, special-order products for each job, build samples strategically, work with true wholesale distributors, and focus on margins—not just sales. Hope’s core recommendation: if you are serving B2B clients, order per job whenever possible and let your clients cover the appropriate product and shipping costs.Episode-13_Wholesale-Secrets-Nobody-Tells-You-Transcript.txt
