One day after an embarrassing 21-0 loss at the hands of the San Diego Padres, owner and CEO Dick Monfort made the call to remove Bud Black as the manager of the Colorado Rockies. Warrant Scheaffer, third base coach and infield instructor, will take over as the interim manager.

What will this change mean for Colorado? What was the response from players like Kyle Freeland and Ryan McMahon who have known Black as their only big league manager? Should this move have come sooner?

Bench coach Mike Redmond was also relieved of his duties. Hitting coach Clint Hurdle has been moved to interim bench coach. The team has not announced who will replace Hurdle as the hitting coach.
