New Washington Athletic Director Troy Dannen was officially announced to his post Saturday, but Tuesday was the first time he got a chance to answer questions from the Seattle media.
Dawgman.com's Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund were at the Conibear Shellhouse to watch the press conference with Dannen and UW President Ana Mari Cauce, as well as an informal media gaggle that took place just a few minutes after the formal press conference was over.
In both settings, Dannen looked at ease, confident, and thrilled about being Washington's 16th Athletic Director. Chris and Scott wanted to offer their first-hand thoughts after seeing Dannen speak and what stood out to them the most.
So in part one of the emergency pod, Chris and Scott give their takes on Dannen and how the fit is for both him and Washington, and then after a quick break part two of the podcast is Dannen's informal media session. He spoke for roughly 12-13 minutes on questions ranging from his take on Mike Hopkins to the most pressing NCAA issue in the next three years, and he also professed his love of the Seattle Supersonics growing up.
