Is there a vital task that confronts the human species at this juncture in time – some Great Work that, if you participated in it, you would feel you were on the right side of history? Surely the world is in need of reform. There are a host of issues that cry out for our attention – climate change, racism and xenophobia, migration, income inequality . . . . But which is the Great Work that calls to us in this moment – as individuals and as a congregation? Or, do we perhaps need a larger frame for the question?
