Emily Soutter: The creation of a Charity Ball Switch

Listen Later

This podcast had me loving my name from the get go!   Emily Soutter lost her beautiful sister Katie to Cystic Fibrosis 12 months ago and in that time has created a charity ball for 500 attendees whilst working full time. www.facebook.com/emsoutter Emily shares her sisters story, a vivacious person with a zest for life who made an impact in the lives of everyone she met.   Katie was born with Cystic fibrosis yet didn’t let it define her. She underwent 2 double lung transplants and passed away whilst waiting for her third at 32 years young! Katie was also a personal trainer who understood the importance of staying healthy and empowered others to do the same.   Emily and I keep Katie’s legacy alive by sharing the amazing work Emily has done in creating a ball in her sisters honour, with only one committee member, herself! We share how the first charity drive was selling boxes of chocolate and how the leap to a ball filled with music, silent auctions and music was initially daunting but exhilarating at the same time.   One of my companies, Buckle Bandage is a proud sponsor with all proceeds going to St Vincent’s Lung & Transplant Clinic, where Katie was the recipient of her lung transplants.   We are excited to share the evening with Emily and the story with our listeners! What a night the 25th march 2022 will be! This is a must listen for anyone thinking of creating a charity event to help raise awareness of a cause they are passionate about.   Join our Facebook group here: (www.facebook.com/groups/461822665123720)chat to Emily or other likeminded community members who are Switching their Sitch, starting a small business or growing an Empire.
