God is a God of mercy and justice. He shows staggering mercy to people who don’t deserve it because that’s just who He is. He forgives sin because that’s just what He does.

Lament does not forget about joyful praise. Lament is about how to get to joyful praise when we're in a place of sorrow and darkness.

Like a trailer for a movie, our singing is a preview of the final triumph of Christ over heaven and earth, when the wave of worship will crest in joyful praise over all creation.

Psalm 33 calls us to offer God the joyful response of a believing and obedient heart to the truth about who He is and what He’s done.
