The Golden Rule is the summary of the whole Sermon on the Mount. It forces us into relationship, because it is active, not passive.

We are commanded by Jesus to ask, seek and knock. If we approach the Father in these ways we will be given the good gifts that God has for us in each case.

Judge not lest you be judged is one of the most misunderstood statements in all of scripture. We are required to judge righteous judgment so that this warning in Matthew 7 is about how we judge.

This is the final portion of chapter 6.

Jesus tells us not to be hypocrites, and defines being a hypocrite as doing our religious activities to be seen by people seeking their praise.
