The early Christian's were unwavering in their allegiance to Jesus and what he called the Kingdom of God-a new kind of reality marked by love for God, love for neighbor, and love for enemy. This commitment positioned them to invite the watching world into a radical alternative to the way the world was typically ordered. That opportunity is still ours today.

This week, we are joined by Summer Wiggleston! We get to know Summer and also follow up on Pastor Nick's message on what it means to believe in Jesus, as part of our series on The Apostle's Creed.

We've been spending our time together on Sunday mornings walking through the Apostle's Creed while asking the question, "what is the least I can believe and still be a Christian?" The hope isn't to water down what it means to follow Jesus, but to declutter it a bit. This week we are moving into the heart and soul of the whole thing-the Jesus stuff. First up-what it does/doesn't mean for Jesus to be "God's only Son."

Labor Day is like the junk drawer of American holidays. It's an occasion for all sorts of things. It marks the end of the summer so you better get that last swim in before the pool closes. It's your final weekend to wear white, and apparently it's a good time to buy a mattress. Historically, Labor Day is a time when we celebrate the dignity of our work by taking a day off. This week we will be talking about the most important kind of work-the work we do for and with God.
