Aromatherapy for Emotional Healing

Josie introduced the visionary leaders, collective podcast and welcomed everyone to their weekly gatherings. She mentioned that the community offerings and weekly newsletters can be found on their website. She then introduced Arin Fugate, a founding member and Doterra leader, who would be teaching about the use of Aromatherapy for healing deep seated emotional wounds. Arin shared her personal story about her struggles and how she found healing through Doterra essential oils. She also shared her experience of reaching the top leadership rank in the company and how it affected her emotionally. She then introduced the emotional aromatherapy kit and explained that she would guide the audience through an exercise using the oils to heal emotional wounds.

 

Aromatherapy and Anchoring for Emotional Healing

Arin discussed the concept of the amygdala and how it stores memories, including emotional trauma. Arin emphasized that the brain can be programmed using essential oils, which can trigger memories associated with certain smells. Arin gave examples of how this can be used to replace negative habits or addictions with positive ones, such as using essential oils to curb sugar cravings. Aisha shared her personal experience of using essential oils for her Lyme disease, and Arin highlighted the importance of creating triggers or "anchors" through consistent use of certain oils, such as lavender for calming. The goal of this discussion was to explore the use of aromatherapy and anchoring for healing emotional pain and gaining more control over emotional states.

 

Identifying Common Triggers

Arin led a discussion about triggers, which he defined as situations that prompt strong emotional reactions. He asked participants to identify a common trigger, using examples from their own lives, such as feeling unloved or being repeatedly let down by someone. Ariana emphasized the importance of identifying triggers that are not extreme, but rather common and manageable, like being late or someone not taking responsibility. Arin suggested that participants could use this technique with a therapist for more serious triggers.

 

Emotions and Essential Oils

Arin facilitated a discussion about identifying and working with emotions through the use of essential oils. He introduced an emotions wheel and explained how different emotions correspond to specific types of oils. He encouraged participants to identify their emotions and choose the corresponding oil for a meditation exercise. Arin also clarified that while specific oils were recommended, using any oil from the corresponding category would still be beneficial if a participant didn't have the specific oil.

 

Exploring Early Life Emotions and Limiting Beliefs

Arin led a discussion centered around exploring and understanding early life emotions and the limiting beliefs that may have originated from them. He encouraged participants to delve into their memories and explore the circumstances that led to these emotions and the beliefs formed as a result. The conversation also involved sharing these beliefs and their opposites with the group for mutual support and understanding. Towards the end, Arin encouraged participants to challenge these limiting beliefs and replace them with more positive ones.

 

Emotional Aromatherapy Practice

Arin led a discussion on the practice of emotional aromatherapy, particularly focusing on transforming negative beliefs into positive affirmations. He guided participants to use aromatherapy oils as a tool to heal emotional wounds, rewrite negative beliefs, and anchor positive beliefs through the use of scent. He stressed the importance of slow, consistent practice and encouraged participants to work with their triggers as opportunities for healing. Ariana shared her personal experiences with the practice, highlighting the value of identifying emotions and using the oils to help her reconnect with her body and emotions.

 

Essential Oils for Healing and Cognition

Arin shared his personal journey with helicrism oil and its potential for healing, both physically and emotionally. He and Aisha emphasized the importance of using essential oils consistently for optimal benefits, suggesting their use in the environment, morning routines, and carrying them throughout the day. Aisha also recommended using essential oils during sleep to improve cognitive performance and sleep quality. The group agreed on the benefits of using all oils, including those from the emotional aromatherapy kit, and proposed a challenge of using different essential oil blends for a month. Josie mentioned a study showing a 226% increase in memory and cognition when different oils were used.

 

Essential Oils for Emotional Wellness

The group discussed their experiences with using essential oils to manage emotions and physical symptoms. Kate shared her positive experience with a product called "Serenity", while Arin noted that she uses oils to manage anxiety-induced muscle tension. Mandy shared her personal struggles with identifying her emotions and how she uses oils to help her pinpoint what she's feeling. Ariana emphasized the importance of acknowledging and labeling emotions, and Mica recommended picking an oil and using it, even if one isn't sure of the emotion they're feeling. Arin also suggested using movement and music as alternative methods to release trapped emotions.

 

Emotions: Guidance for Decision-Making

The team discussed the importance of understanding and expressing emotions. Dr. Mica suggested letting emotions guide decision-making. Kate explained the use of the 'SUDS' or Subjective Units of Distress Scale, a tool used in therapy to measure emotional intensity. She emphasized the power of naming emotions, as it helps validate the individual's experience. Arin concluded the discussion by emphasizing that emotions are a gift and a pathway to health and healing.
